How to make vegan donuts

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl, and add the wet ingredients
  3. Spoon the batter into a doughnut pan (affiliate link); if you are not using a nonstick pan, make sure you grease it first.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

How to make the Chocolate glaze?

Add coconut milk and chocolate in a small saucepan, and mix well. Add the vanilla and maple syrup, and stir over low heat until you can see the bottom of the pot. Glaze the doughnuts while the glaze is hot-warm.

  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 1 cup sugar
  • teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil melted
  • 1 cup milk + 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar I use rice or almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

Chocolate glaze

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate pieces
  • 2/3 cup coconut milk (canned)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
  • Donuts
  • Mix the dry ingredients very well and empty the liquid ingredients.
  • Put the mixture in the donut molds and bake for 15-20 minutes. When you put a toothpick in and it comes out clean.

Chocolate glaze

  • In a small saucepan put the coconut milk and chocolate, mix well. Add the vanilla and maple syrup, put on low heat and mix until everything is integrated and you can see the bottom of the pot.
  • Put the donuts on a cooling rack and pour the chocolate into each one. Let the chocolate cool a bit before tasting.
  • Finish the donuts with whatever you want.

Notes

Freezing instructions. You can freeze the unglazed doughnuts for up to two months and thaw them overnight in the fridge.
