About the best lemonade recipe

Nothing is more refreshing than having a cold drink waiting for you as soon as you get home. And it’s even better when you have a whole beverage center with tons of cold and refreshing options waiting for you.

But I never thought about including homemade beverage options until I saw my kids grab a can of soda every day after school. That is when it struck me and I had the best idea to make homemade lemonade ready for them to grab.

It also helped that the GE Profile Beverage Center is completely customizable, with a great capacity, and perfect for the whole family’s drinks.

Best lemonade ingredients

There are a lot of great recipes for lemonade out there. Still, my personal favorite is this one:

  • Fresh lemon juice. The best lemons for lemonade are the ones that are ripest and have the most juice.
  • Cane sugar, honey, or your favorite sweetener. I use cane sugar because it is the best for making simple syrup.
  • Water, use filtered water. I use water from my GE Profile fridge that is filtered and perfectly cold.
How to make simple syrup?

1 cup sugar and 1 cup water.

In a small saucepan, heat sugar and water over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar has dissolved.

Remove from the heat and let cool completely. Store in a sealed container in the fridge.

How to make the best lemonade

  1. Combine lemon juice, simple syrup, and water in a pitcher and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Stir until well combined.
  3. After I make the lemonade with the simple syrup, I store it in glass bottles inside the Beverage Center.

The GE Profile Beverage Center is so family-friendly

There are so many things that I love about my GE Profile Beverage Center. I could talk about the super modern design or its interior lighting which is amazing, but I’m gonna tell you why I am convinced that it’s the best family beverage center you can have.

  • The reversible glass and wood shelves flip so easily and give you the flexibility to store what you want. The wooden side to hold wine bottles in place, or the glass side for cans of beer, soda, or your homemade lemonade.
  • You can adjust the space between the shelves, making it easier to store bottles and cans at the same time.
  • You can store 155 cans or 52 bottles. Or a mix of both as we do in my family.
  • The door alarm is so perfect for families with kids! The alarm goes off every time the door has been left open. Great for saving energy.
  • The power and temperature control buttons are inside, which makes it so easy to access them and easy to clean the beautiful glass door without changing the temperature, which always used to happen with my other beverage fridge.
So what's the key to healthy, full of nutrients flavored lemondade?

The trick is to have your lemonade ready to go, and then, add fruits with the colors of the rainbow to the lemonade, making it fun and attractive for your kids. I let my kids decide which fruit they want to add.

I always have washed blueberries, raspberries, chopped kiwi, or mango for them, ready to flavor their lemonade.

The combinations are endless, but here are some of their favorites: raspberry lemonade, blueberry lemonade, watermelon lemonade, cucumber lemonade, mango lemonade, or even papaya lemonade for a bright orange color.
