Why you’ll love this recipe
- Perfect for everyone: Kids love it, adults love it—even picky eaters love it.
- Quick and easy: From blender to glass in under 10 minutes.
- Naturally refreshing: No artificial colors or flavors.
- Customizable: Use more or less sugar, add lemon instead of lime, or try sparkling water for fizz.

ingredient notes
- Strawberries: Fresh or frozen work great. I usually use frozen, no hulling, plus they chill the drink instantly.
- Lime or lemon juice: A splash of acidity makes the flavors pop. If you want a classic Mexican taste, go for lime.
- Sugar: Start small and add more to taste. You can swap in agave syrup or coconut sugar if you like.

- Place the fruit, sugar, lemon juice, and water in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a pitcher to remove any pulp or seeds. Straining is optional.
- Store the agua fresca in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
- Serve the agua fresca over ice and garnish with fresh fruit or herbs if desired.

Variations
- Add a handful of fresh basil or mint to the blender for an herbal twist.
- Use sparkling water instead of still water for a fizzy version.
- Mix in a bit of coconut water for a tropical upgrade.
- Want it spicy? Add a slice of jalapeño or use jalapeño simple syrup while blending (just a little!).
Serving suggestions
- With food: It’s the perfect partner for tacos, tostadas, or tamales.

- Just because: Sometimes I pour a glass mid-afternoon, add ice, and sip slowly—it’s like a mini vacation.
