How to make the perfect black pepper stir-fry noodles?

The first step is to gather all your ingredients, cook the noodles accordingly, and make the sauce.

Add a tablespoon of vegetable oil to a hot, non-stick pan and sautée the shiitake mushrooms.

Then add the sliced celery and saute for 30 seconds to a minute.

Equipment

  • 1 small mixing bowl
  • 1 10-in non-stick frying pan

Ingredients
  

  • 4 garlic cloves grated
  • 2 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil plus 1 tbsp extra for sauteeing the vegetables
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil, toasted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 16 oz Noodles of your choice
  • 1.5 lbs Shiitake mushrooms sliced
  • 1 cup celery, sliced about half an inch slaiced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, grated ginger, grated garlic, maple syrup, vegetable oil, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper.
  • Cook noodles according to package instructions.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add sliced Shiitake mushrooms and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes. Add the celery.
  • Add the noodles to the pan and pour the sauce over the mushrooms and celery and stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve the stir-fry and garnish with sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Feel free to choose any noodles you prefer. The choice is yours, from classic ramen and udon to soba noodles and even pasta.
  • You can use low sodium soy sauce.
  • Sub the shiitake mushrooms with cremini or even buton mushrooms.
