  • Taste the mangonada, adjust if needed, and taste again until you get the desired flavor. In Mexico we make them by heart and it mostly depends on your taste.
  • Add some liquid to the blender to ensure it runs smoothly. You can use water or lemon juice, not too much, the consistency of the mango puree has to be thick. However, if you have a high-power blender like the Blendtec or Vitamix, you don’t need to add liquid.
  • Allow the frozen mango chunks to thaw for about 5 minutes before blending it to make it softer and easier to blend. You could also use fresh mango chunks and ice cubes and freeze later to achieve the same consistency.
  • For garnishes, you can use tamarind candy straws, spicy peanuts, fresh mango, spicy mango, or any other sweets that you like. Rim the glasses with lime and Tajin or chile-lime salt.
  • To make a spkied mangonada add tequila to the mango mix. Garnish the same with a drizzle of chamoy, the tamarind straws, sprinkle Tajin and spicy fruit on top.
