Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried marjoram
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 3 tablespoon sumac
  • 3 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • Toast the Sesame Seeds (if needed): If your sesame seeds aren't already toasted, heat a dry skillet over medium heat. Add the sesame seeds and toast them for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and let them cool completely.
  • Combine the Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the toasted sesame seeds, dried thyme, dried oregano, dried marjoram, ground cumin, ground coriander, and sumac.
  • Mix Thoroughly: Stir the mixture well to ensure that all the ingredients are evenly distributed. The spices should be well-blended, giving you a consistent flavor in every pinch.
  • Store Your Za'atar: Transfer your homemade za'atar to an airtight container. Store it in a cool, dry place, and it will stay fresh for up to six months.
