Ingredients
1tablespoonolive oil or neutral tasting oil
1tablespoonmaple syrup
½teaspoonfine grain salt
⅛or ¼ teaspoon chipotle powder or cayenne pepper
2 1/2cupsnutsany combination of your choice is excellent: pistachios, cashews, pecans, walnuts, etc.
Instructions
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the nuts, olive oil, maple syrup, chipotle or cayenne powder, and salt. Toss until the nuts are evenly coated.
Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
Bake: Spread the nuts in a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes, rotate the tray, and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.
Cool and Store: Remove from the oven and let the nuts cool completely before tasting. Store in an airtight jar for up to five days.
Notes
Adjust the level of spice to your preference by using more or less chipotle or cayenne powder.
